3-D Shapes

Kindergarten has been studying 3-D shapes in their classrooms (Cylinders, Cones, Cubes, Spheres). We thought we’d have some of them help us make a “cone” in the garden.

We had teams of 2 kids each choose a long, natural pole (gathered/cut previously from the woods). They each held one end and they carefully carried them to the garden. They were very responsible about it.

Then each team, one at a time, brought their pole to the bean bed. First we tied 3 together to make a frame, then the rest of them set their pole around the perimeter to create a cone for the peas to climb.

Sometimes we helped small people a little.

After the cone, we planted sweet peas to attract pollinators. We are excited to see them grow!
