On the last day of school we did some final harvesting and work in the garden. Garden club kids got to pull radishes, carrots, beets, lettuce, kale, and anything else that was ready for eating.
We had quite a haul! I can’t get over the gorgeous and varied colors of root vegetables.
We loaded it all up into the wagon and went around the school bringing it to some of the classes that planted. Kids got to choose something to taste.
Before making our final exit, we made some veggie bouquets as goodbye gifts for some of the office staff.
The rest got washed and packaged up to deliver to Plant a Row for the Hungry. We had a great year and are looking forward to more in 2016/17!
